CHARLES & KEITH Summer 2018 is a continuation from the Spring campaign titled ‘Garden State’. Based on the theme of new technologies and their increasingly complex role in society, the campaign imagines the effects that social media and digital culture would have on us in the near future.

Once again, celebrated fashion photographer Yelena Yemchuk helms the camera. Up-and-coming models Marjan Jonkman and Lia Pavlova also return to lend their faces to the campaign, helping to seamlessly transition the storyline from one season to the next.

In the editorial, the protagonists are seen enjoying the summer sun in a field of wildflowers. The mirrors in the background symbolises reflection and a new awareness of our growing reliance on technology. This awakening leads to a desire to head out into the great outdoors, as nature is seen as the antidote to our obsession with shiny screens.

The optimistic and progressive concept behind the campaign inspires the generous use of black and white, futuristic metallics and clean, modern silhouettes found in the classic summer collection. Other stand-out elements include breathable textures such as braid, mesh and rope lattice, eye-catching coloured striped patterns and luxurious gemstone embellishments. The product line-up consists of sneaker mules, leather glitter sling back sandals, tapered heel thong sandals and pint-sized crossbody bags – all designed with the warm and carefree summer months in mind.
