Tumi Launched its First Flagship Boutique in the Gurney Paragon Mall, Penang and Celebrated the Tumi Differences Through a Local Artiste Showcase.

TUMI, the leading international brand of premium travel, business, and lifestyle accessories, officially launched its first flagship boutique in the Gurney Paragon Mall in Penang on 17th October 2013. The Valiram Group, Southeast Asia’s leading Luxury goods retailer, exclusively manages and operates TUMI in Malaysia.

This new 1,287 sq. ft. location adds to an already extensive list of 5 stores throughout Malaysia alone, and over 200 stores worldwide. This stylish new location has been selected to represent an international brand renowned for its exceptional quality and style and is the next step in TUMI’s exciting growth story in Malaysia.

Mukesh Valiram, Executive Director of Valiram Group, Tom Nelson, Managing Director of Tumi Asia Pacific as well as Hunza Properties Bhd, Group Executive Chairman Dato’ Khor Teng Tong and GroupManaging Director Dato’ Daisy Ooi officiated the ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the Grand Opening of TUMI boutique. In conjunction with the grand opening, TUMI handpicked a selection of 6 local artists and invited them to bring to life the brand’s founding principles, known as The TUMI Difference. TUMI’s founding principles include; design excellence, unparalleled quality, technical innovation, functional superiority and world-class customer service.

The showcase include local artists and designers such as renowned singer-songwriter Amanda Imani, famous fashion designer Rizalman Ibrahim, international photojournalist, portrait and celebrityphotographer Kid Chan, TV host and author Sasha Bashir, Malaysian born textile designer Rebecca Duckett and Wanita Wawasan Magazine in collaboration with IMAAN, a local custom made statement necklace brand. The artists showcased their original TUMI inspired pieces in an exhibition set up in the Atrium area of Gurney Paragon Mall from the 17th – 23rd October 2013.
