The Story Behind The Pink Van
The Story Behind The Pink Van
Back in 1948, when GODIVA had just unveiled the first ever Godiva flagship boutique in Brussels’ famous Grand Place, Belgium was a disheartened nation. Suffering the after-effects of WWII, little luxuries were in short supply as the country endeavored to return to a normal way of life.
Founder, Pierre Draps was saddened by the aftermath and decided to come up with a wonderful way to bring some fun back to their fellow Belgians by setting up a fleet of vans to deliver handmade chocolates around the city. Painted a cheerful shade of pink, the vehicles were intended to lift spirits and help inject a sense of fun and indulgence back into Brussels.
