UPCYCLING INITIATIVES (23 JUNE 2023)
Upcycling is the process of transforming discarded or unused materials into products of higher value or quality. Instead of throwing away items, upcycling involves creatively remodeling to give them a new life and purpose. Also, it promotes sustainability by reducing waste and encouraging creativity and resourcefulness.
Upcycling benefits include:
- Waste reduction
- Resource conservation (giving new life to existing materials)
- Environmental impact reduction
- Cost savings
- Community engagement
As you know, we had the #runforchildren event, and each bib carries a photo of the child who we were running for to uphold the 42 rights for children.
A total of 6 VGreen Influencers volunteered to creatively upcycle bibs using items found in the office and their fantastic work is displayed in a prominent location in our Kuala Lumpur Office.
This initiative allowed us to promote sustainability, encourage creativity, and connect like-minded communities in our organisation.
